The Project Manager is responsible for Driving, Planning, Implementing, Controlling and Completion of the project with maximum result

NATURE OF WORK & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Work

  • Project management, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific project
  • Assemble, coordinate project staff and provide direction and support to project team
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stalk holder.
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project output.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within project team.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyse results and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Ensure timely delivery and execution of project.
  • Attend site meeting with main contractor, consultant, architect and client.
  • Liaise with site staffs, supervisors, foremen and suppliers.
  • Monitor and follow up construction progress and progress claims.
  • To perform secondary and ad-hoc assignments.

The Team

  • Plan the use of workers; Establish structures and work schedule, delegate tasks and accountabilities.
  • Ensured the effective development and implementation of the Safety, Environment and Quality Plans for the project.
  • Ensure that the Project Team are given sufficient instruction, direction and assistance to ensure that all activities managed by them achieve the Project targets set.
  • Ensure the maintenance of an innovative approach to the project activities and encourage this in all people.
  • Liaison with the Clients and other contractors as required facilitating good employee relations and excellent project outcomes.
  • Act to minimize the risk of industrial relations issues by maintaining excellent communications with all levels of project personnel.
  • Conduct performance review in accordance with the Performance Effectiveness Review Procedure for the project management team.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance; Assess and develop, to their full potential of all project personnel.

The Systems – Quality, Safety, Health and Environment

Safety

  • Ensure commitment from all employees and also subcontractors towards safety as the number one priority. Safety will exceed cost, schedule or quality at work.
  • Ensure that the requirements of Safety Plan for all Projects are met.
  • Actively (and visibly) participate in safety and health issues, including the weeklyinspections, audits and Toolbox meetings.
  • Ensure all communication mechanisms that contribute to safety are maintained.
  • Set and measure monthly, Company performance against the KPI’s developed inenvironment and safety.
  • Recognize and reward safety performance and initiatives.

Quality

  • Ensuring the effective implementation of the Quality Plan for the project.
  • Management, co-ordination and evaluation of sub-contractors and suppliers to ensureCompany and contract requirements are met.
  • Liaison with Clients and other contractors as required facilitating construction andadherence to the projects quality goals.
  • Maintain Company commitment to continuous improvement in quality.
  • Maintain an innovative approach to the project activities and encourage this in all people and it subcontractors.

Environment

  • Direct Company commitment to the project environmental objectives by ongoing communication with the Clients and:
  • Promoting the procedures of the Environment Management Procedures for the project.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

~ Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Experience

~ 5 to 8 Years of working experience or 5 years in similar capacity

Skill & Knowledge

      • ~  Must have comprehension for written or verbal graphic instructions
      • ~  Must possess good communication skills.
      • ~  Relevant experience on any electrical works.
      • ~  Must possess good trouble shooting skills.

Personal Qualities

      • ~  Have excellent problem solving skills
      • ~  Good leadership and decision making qualities.
      • ~  Good team player and customer focused with excellent communication skills.
      • ~  Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
      • ~  Able to work under pressure with high initiative

Working Hours

~ Monday to Friday: 0830 hours – 1800 hours

~ Saturday: 0830 hours – 1230 hours
